Named in honor of Marilyn Nelson—who brought the performing arts to Highland Village and donated the land and building where Studio B now thrives—are Studio B’s own version of the Tonys.
Each year, directors nominate cast and crew members in categories such as Best Actor, Best Actress, Best Singer, and Best Character Voice, while also presenting Director’s Choice Awards to recognize unique contributions like “Quickest Costume Change,” “Best Trio,” or “Most Mischievous.” By becoming a Nellie Awards Member, you gain the opportunity to vote for nominated awards and enjoy exclusive perks, including early access to ticket sales. Membership culminates in our annual Nellie Awards Night each February, a red-carpet event filled with performances, celebrations, and the excitement of honoring the outstanding talent and dedication that make Studio B extraordinary.
