Studio B Performing Arts summer camps give young performers the chance to act, sing, and dance while rehearsing a full musical production. Camps conclude with live performances for family and friends. Summer Theatre Camps WHERE YOUNG PERFORMERS DISCOVER THE MAGIC OF THE STAGE. Spend your summer on stage at Studio B Performing Arts with our immersive musical theatre camps designed for young performers of multiple age groups and experience levels. Campers learn acting, singing, and choreography in a supportive, encouraging environment while building confidence, creativity, and teamwork through daily rehearsals and hands-on instruction. Each session culminates in a fully staged live performance for family and friends, giving participants the excitement and accomplishment of a real theatrical production. From the first rehearsal to the final curtain call, our summer camps create unforgettable memories and a lasting love for the performing arts. What Makes Studio B Summer Camps Special? Studio B summer camps offer young performers the opportunity to experience the entire theatrical process in a fun and supportive environment. Students spend several weeks learning acting techniques, vocal performance, choreography, and stage presence while rehearsing a full musical production. Along the way they develop confidence, teamwork skills, and a deeper appreciation for the performing arts. At the end of each camp session, students perform the show for live audiences in the Studio B theater. This real stage experience allows campers to celebrate everything they have learned and share their hard work with family and friends. Studio B summer camps are designed to give students a true production experience. On the first day of camp, students learn music, choreography, and lines that will be used during their camp auditions. Auditions are held during camp hours, and every student is cast in a role in the final production. How Our Camps Work: Throughout the camp session, students rehearse scenes, songs, and choreography while working with experienced directors and instructors. Rehearsals take place daily and gradually build toward a fully staged musical performance. What Campers Learn: Studio B summer camps focus on developing both performance skills and personal confidence. Campers learn: Acting and character development Vocal performance and ensemble singing Dance and stage movement Stage presence and storytelling Teamwork and collaboration Camp Schedule & Details: These skills help students grow not only as performers but also as confident communicators and creative thinkers. Each summer camp runs Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM and lasts approximately three weeks. Campers should bring a sack lunch and water bottle each day so they can stay energized during rehearsals. At the end of the camp session, families are invited to attend the final performances where students present the musical they have been rehearsing throughout the program. Frequently Asked Questions: Camp sessions are designed for different age groups so students can learn and perform with peers at a similar experience level. What ages can attend Studio B summer camps? Auditions take place during camp hours and are used only for casting roles. Every camper is cast in the show. Do students have to audition to attend camp? Campers should bring a sack lunch, water bottle, close toed shows, and comfortable clothing for movement and rehearsals. Any additional items will be communicated for each camp. What does my child need to bring to camp? Yes! Each camp ends with multiple live performances where campers present the musical they have rehearsed. Will there be a performance? Current Summer Camp Productions: Camp 1 – Disney’s The Lion King KIDS Roar into summer with Disney’s The Lion King KIDS, a three-week musical theatre camp for performers ages 8–16. Campers rehearse Monday through Friday from 9:00 AM–1:00 PM while learning acting, singing, and dance as they bring the Pride Lands to life on stage. Dates : June 8-26 & Shows : June 26-28 The session concludes with three live performances where campers showcase everything they have learned in a fully staged production. Join Studio B Performing Arts for Disney’s The Jungle Book KIDS Summer Camp, July 6–24, 2026. Ages 5–11 will sing, dance, and act their way through this jazzy, adventure-filled Disney classic. Disney’s The Jungle Book KIDS JOIN MOWGLI AND FRIENDS FOR A JAZZY JOURNEY THROUGH THE JUNGLE! A Swingin’ Summer Camp Full of Music, Friendship, and Wild Fun! The jungle is jumpin’ with rhythm and adventure in Disney’s The Jungle Book KIDS! Specially adapted from the classic Disney animated film, this lively musical follows Mowgli, a fearless human boy raised by wolves, as he sets out on a journey through the jungle with his loyal panther friend, Bagheera. Along the way, they meet the lovable bear Baloo, who teaches Mowgli the fun and freedom of “The Bare Necessities,” while the mischievous King Louie dreams of learning the secret of man’s fire. For ages 9–15, Studio B’s Drama Club builds community through workshops, service projects, and group outings for students passionate about theater. Drama Club A CREATIVE COMMUNITY FOR YOUNG PERFORMERS WHO WANT TO GO BEYOND THE STAGE. The Studio B Drama Club: Designed for students ages 9–16 who have participated in at least two productions or classes with us in the past 2 years and are eager to deepen their involvement in the arts. This club provides a unique opportunity to build community with fellow theater enthusiasts while exploring new aspects of performance and production. Members take part in specialized workshops led by guest instructors, covering areas such as costume design, character development, improvisation, scenic painting, and more. Beyond skill-building, the club emphasizes service and engagement—recent projects have included supporting local organizations like Lovepacs and creating promotional videos for North Texas Giving Day Members also enjoy attending Studio B productions together (when they aren’t on stage themselves) and experiencing local professional performances, such as their group trip to see The Lion King. The Drama Club is perfect for young performers who simply can’t get enough of theater and want to connect, learn, and grow both on and off the stage. Past activities have included character development, improvisation, stage makeup, dance, and vocal performance, as well as technical skills such as scenic painting, lighting programming, costuming, and prop making. All members of the production team will be expected to attend meetings, rehearsals, and work days the entire run of the show June 8 - June 28. DIRECTOR The Director is responsible for the artistic vision, leadership, and overall execution of a Studio B production, workshop, or camp. This role oversees rehearsals, staff coordination, communication with families, and ensures a positive, organized, and safe experience for all participants. Director KEY RESPONSIBILITIES: Plan and lead auditions, casting, and rehearsals within approved schedules Interpret scripts and oversee creative direction for blocking, pacing, and storytelling Coordinate with Music Director, Choreographer, Stage Manager, interns, and volunteers Design and oversee sets, props, and costuming within approved budgets Communicate regularly with parents, cast, and Studio B staff regarding schedules, needs, and updates Supervise rehearsals, performances, and backstage operations Ensure adherence to Studio B policies, safety procedures, and behavior expectations Oversee performances, strike, cleanup, and proper storage of all production materials Complete required administrative tasks including invoices, Nellie ballot submissions, and key returns QUALIFICATIONS: Prior directing experience in theater, musical theater, or performing arts (community or educational setting preferred) Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills Experience working with children and/or adult performers in a structured environment Ability to manage rehearsals, volunteers, and creative staff effectively Knowledge of stage etiquette, rehearsal processes, and production timelines Commitment to maintaining a positive, safe, and inclusive learning environment Ability to work within a defined budget and follow organizational policies TIME COMMITMENT: Attendance at required production meetings and auditions Regular rehearsals throughout the full rehearsal period Tech week and all scheduled performances Post-show strike and administrative wrap-up Time commitment varies by production but typically spans several weeks Apply Now MUSIC DIRECTOR The Music Director leads all musical elements of a production, ensuring cast members are confident, prepared, and musically cohesive.
