Audition for Studio B Performing Arts’ The Addams Family Musical! Open to ages 12+, this fall community production runs September 25–October 4, 2026. Embrace the creepy, kooky fun on stage! The Addams Family - A New Musical Comedy JOIN THE CREEPY KOOKY, AND HILARIOUSLY HEARTFELT ADDAMS FAMILY ON STAGE! A Comical Feast That Celebrates the Wackiness in Every Family! They’re creepy and they’re kooky—mysterious and spooky—and they’re taking over the Studio B stage this fall! The Addams Family musical brings everyone’s favorite macabre family to life in a delightfully twisted story about love, loyalty, and the chaos that comes when worlds collide. Wednesday Addams, the princess of darkness, has fallen for a sweet, smart young man from a “normal” family. But when the Addamses host a dinner to meet the boyfriend’s parents, secrets are revealed, tempers flare, and hilarity ensues. This audition-based community production is open to actors ages 12 and up. Auditions will be held Saturday, August 1st, and will include cold readings from the script in small groups and 16 bars of a musical theatre song. Please bring your recorded accompaniment track, resume, audition form, headshot, and signed Studio B waiver. Auditions will be held on August 8th at 10 am. More details will be coming soon! Rehearsals will take place Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 6:30–9:00 PM, and Saturdays from 10:00 AM–1:00 PM, beginning Tuesday, August 18th, and running through Thursday, September 24th. Performances will be held September 25–27 and October 2–4, with Friday and Saturday shows at 7:30 PM and Sunday matinees at 2:30 PM. A $25 script fee will apply to all cast members. Disney’s The Jungle Book KIDS JOIN MOWGLI AND FRIENDS FOR A JAZZY JOURNEY THROUGH THE JUNGLE! A Swingin’ Summer Camp Full of Music, Friendship, and Wild Fun! The jungle is jumpin’ with rhythm and adventure in Disney’s The Jungle Book KIDS! Specially adapted from the classic Disney animated film, this lively musical follows Mowgli, a fearless human boy raised by wolves, as he sets out on a journey through the jungle with his loyal panther friend, Bagheera. Along the way, they meet the lovable bear Baloo, who teaches Mowgli the fun and freedom of “The Bare Necessities,” while the mischievous King Louie dreams of learning the secret of man’s fire. Together, they must unite their animal friends to defeat the fearsome tiger Shere Khan and bring peace back to the jungle. This three-week summer camp for ages 5–11 runs Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM–1:00 PM, from July 6–24, 2026. Campers will explore acting, singing, and dancing as they rehearse for three final performances: Friday, July 24th, at 7:30 PM; Saturday, July 25th, at 7:30 PM; and Sunday, July 26th, at 2:30 PM. Q: How large is your facility and what spaces are available? A: Our facility is approximately 4,540 square feet and includes a 100-seat theater, lobby & box office, a dance room, backstage and green room space, offices, and technical areas. Q: What kinds of productions do you stage? A: We present a variety of shows including musicals for children, youth and teens, comedies, dramas, holiday shows, and community-driven events. Tickets & Attendance Q: How do I buy tickets? A: You can purchase tickets online via our “Buy Tickets ” page. You’ll be able to pick your seating and then receive confirmation via email. Q: Is there a service fee when I buy tickets? A: Yes, a service charge (typically $1.00 to $1.50) is added per ticket when purchasing online. Q: Do I need to print my ticket? A: No — we only need the name on the ticket order at the door. You do not have to print or scan anything. Q: What is your refund or exchange policy? A: All ticket sales are final. We do not offer refunds or cancellations. However, ticket exchanges are allowed (for the same production) if requested at least 24 hours before the performance, and a $2 exchange fee applies. Also, please note that our ticketing provider (TicketsToTheCity) does not issue refunds for cancellations or lost tickets. Auditions & Productions Q: How can I audition for a show? A: Auditions information is posted on our website under the play’s page. You’ll usually need to do a cold reading from the script in small groups. Bring a resume, headshot, audition form, and any required waivers. Q: What is a “cold reading” audition? A: A cold reading means you’ll be given a script excerpt at the audition and asked to perform it without having had prior rehearsal or memorization. Q: Who is eligible to audition? A: Eligibility varies by production. For example, for Descendants: The Musical, participants should be between ages 8 and 16 (or as stated on the specific show page). Q: Do I need previous experience to audition? A: Not necessarily. We welcome performers of all levels. Each production’s audition page will state if experience is preferred or required. Drama Club & Ongoing Programs Q: What is the Drama Club? A: Drama Club is a special program for ages 9–15 who have participated in at least two Studio B activities in the past year. It provides deeper engagement through workshops (costume design, scenic painting, improv, etc.), service projects, and group outings to shows. Q: How often does Drama Club meet? A: Meeting frequency varies based on schedules and guest instructors. We aim to diversify topics and avoid repetition. Q: Do participants in Drama Club also take part in shows? A: Yes. A: The Nellies are Studio B’s version of the Tonys, named in honor of Marilyn Nelson, who donated the land/building for the theater. TECH BOOTH OPERATOR (LIGHT/SOUND) The Tech Booth Operator manages lighting and sound cues during rehearsals and performances to support the technical execution of each production. For ages 9–15, Studio B’s Drama Club builds community through workshops, service projects, and group outings for students passionate about theater. Drama Club A CREATIVE COMMUNITY FOR YOUNG PERFORMERS WHO WANT TO GO BEYOND THE STAGE. The Studio B Drama Club: Designed for students ages 9–15 who have participated in at least two productions or classes with us in the past 2 years and are eager to deepen their involvement in the arts. This club provides a unique opportunity to build community with fellow theater enthusiasts while exploring new aspects of performance and production. Members take part in specialized workshops led by guest instructors, covering areas such as costume design, character development, improvisation, scenic painting, and more. Beyond skill-building, the club emphasizes service and engagement—recent projects have included supporting local organizations like Lovepacs and creating promotional videos for North Texas Giving Day Members also enjoy attending Studio B productions together (when they aren’t on stage themselves) and experiencing local professional performances, such as their group trip to see The Lion King. The Drama Club is perfect for young performers who simply can’t get enough of theater and want to connect, learn, and grow both on and off the stage. Past activities have included character development, improvisation, stage makeup, dance, and vocal performance, as well as technical skills such as scenic painting, lighting programming, costuming, and prop making.
